MC-13 Cairns Group Communiqué

The Cairns Group expresses its disappointment with the failure to deliver on agriculture once again, with no outcome at the 13th WTO Ministerial in Abu Dhabi. 

This has come at a time of critical challenges to the global trading system, including in relation to food security, development and the environment. 

The lack of political will by a few major WTO Members, who continue to benefit from the status quo, continues to constrain the efforts by the majority to make genuine progress on agricultural trade reform.

The Cairns Group remains steadfast in its commitment to leveling the playing field in agriculture in pursuit of an open, fair, market oriented agricultural trading system.
