Proposals

In the lead up to and in the early phase of the current WTO Doha Round of negotiations, the Cairns Group tabled negotiating proposals setting out blueprints for ambitious reforms across the three main areas of the agriculture negotiations: market access, domestic support and export subsidies. These are attached below.

Following this proposal-based phase of the Doha Round more substantive negotiations have taken place, leading to agreement on the July Framework in 2004. Since then the Cairns Group has submitted various proposals to influence the direction of the negotiations.
